The Ambitions of Aminka Ozmun, New Author of African-American Romance Novels

It’s not every day that a new would-be author voices her plans online, picture attached.  Many aspiring writers speak of general matters, typically related to their fiction, not their business strategies — but Aminka Ozmun has done just that.  The former model has been talking it up all over the worldwide web about her coming contributions to the world of literary letters, especially where the African-American romance novel of the new millennium is concerned, but far fewer observers have picked up on her stated ambitions where business is strictly concerned.

In an act of either unimaginable open-mindedness or just plain naiveté, the young New York beauty has plainly declared her designs: Having identified a potentially lucrative market for a heretofore unknown sub-genre of a sub-genre of pulp fiction, she plans on creating works targeted specifically for this demographic, using social media to keep abreast of their preferences and other indications of taste that might prove important to her efforts!

Whew, just reporting that was a mouthful, but “spitting it out” very accurately reflects the breathless berth of her ambitions, their sheer scope and the absolute audacity in detailing them so intimately as she has done.  After all, people don’t generally like to be sold to, and internal barriers naturally arise when one feels being pitched.  Could the author’s candor ahead of her hoped-for popularity derail her success before it’s even begun to develop?
